01 About Profile

The work that pulls me in is usually uncharted: a new technology that has outrun the rules around it and still has to find its place in the world. Building it is rarely the hard part. The harder problem, and the one I’ve spent most of my career working on, is getting exceptional products into the hands of the people who need them. The current version of that problem is at Cycles, where we’re building clearing and settlement infrastructure for institutional onchain finance.

My career has taken me from strategy consulting and venture capital to SaaS, fintech, and blockchain. The industries changed, but the challenge rarely did. I started at KPMG before moving to O’Leary Ventures, where I worked on Shark Tank investments and launched O’Leary Fine Wines. At FreshBooks, I helped build the corporate development function and completed two acquisitions on the way to a $100M revenue run rate.

Since then I’ve focused on frontier technology, working with companies including SuperRare and EQTY Lab, and serving as a Venture Partner at AGE Fund, where I led three early-stage investments in fintech and blockchain.

Originally from Toronto, I now live in Manhattan Beach with my wife and son. The longer version reads as a series of chapters.
